      About My Aged Care Registration

Full-service companies with aged care experience are the typical applicants. Applicants will need to demonstrate that each key personnel in their business are appropriately qualiified, experienced and capable to undertake the role for a Registered Aged Care Provider business, and the Applicant will need to demonstrate the general experience the business has relevant to aged care service delivery. For more information, follow this link to the Commission website: https://www.agedcarequality.gov.au/providers/provider-registration/registration-guidance, or alternatively reach out to a friendly Avaana representative!

Applicants will need to prepare a suite of policies, forms and supporting documents that relfect the requirements for Application. They will then apply to the Commission for consideration of Registration, undertake auditing and any further review processes implemented by the Commission, and then once approved start working as a Registered Provider!

From 1 November 2025, Australia’s aged care system commenced major reforms, including a new Aged Care Act focused on rights of Aged Care Individuals, and the launch of the Support at Home program. Support at Home replaces Home Care Packages, introducing 8 levels of funding classifications, significantly changing residential care fees, and implementing a “single provider’ model.

      Fees payable to the Government:
      $3,270 per Application
+ Category Fees ($ Per Category)
      $1,270 for Categories 1-3
      $3,800 for Categories 4-5
      + Audit Fee
      $14,870 per Application.
Consultants will usually charge their independent fee on top of these Government fees.

The three main types of aged care services are Home Care, providing support to live independently; Residential Care, for those needing 24/7 support in a facility; and Assistive Technologies and Home Modifications (AT-HM), which enables Individuals to access specialised products, assistive technologies and a variety of home modifications.

Avaana gets to know your business. We speak to you directly to understand your current and future service delivery plans, drafts tailored policies, procedural forms and implementation guides to support your Application; and of course help you to complete the Application Form for lodgement with the Aged Care Commission. Upon receipt of the Application, we guide you through the information request and audit processes, update documentation where required, and draft communications on your behalf, as required. Following a successful Application, we can further connect you to our internal NDIS, DVA, workcover and digital website experts who can help your business expand in line with your unique future!

Avaana partners with expert business advisors to assist applicants future-proof their business, and demonstrate the evidence in place before the application is submitted, as the Application must be submitted as if you were to be approved and working with your own clients immediately after the Commission receives the Application (even if that is not the reality).
